Dear Mym - Year Seven and Epilogue

Hullo, everyone.

It's Sunday night, I have a stinking cold thanks to the rotten weather at the moment, and it's time for the final chapters of Dear Mym. There is an epilogue, but it's so short I didn't think it was worth saving until next week - and I'm off to Spain anyway, so at least I don't have to worry about posting that before I go.

Charlie has left Hogwarts and is working with the Order of the Phoenix, but with war on the way, anything could happen.

Thank you to everyone who's read the story. I hope you enjoyed it. Comments, reviews and kudos are always welcome.

As I said I'm off to Spain shortly, but before I go I need to crack on with NaNoWriMo. Shamefully, I've been so busy this month that my current tally stands at about 4,000 words, but I've set this week aside to do as much as possible, and if nothing else get the annual Christmas story finished.

I'm also very excited because my BFF bought me the Harry Potter Funko advent calendar, to clutter up my already overstuffed home with 24 miniature HP figures. I have also bought a chocolate calendar (of course) and a wine one, too, as I think a glass of wine each evening is a nice way to treat myself in the lead up to Christmas.

Time to get going as I need to crack that word count, and find time to put up my Christmas tree!

Feeling festive already!

Dear Mym - Year Six

Good morning everyone.

I know I'm a day early, but I'm off to gigs for the next couple of nights so rather than be really late posting I thought I'd get it done before I went - anything to keep me away from NaNoWriMo (it's not going well) and building a rather tricky TV stand that I really can't get my head around the picture-only instructions for tonight.

So, Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. What about that ending, eh? Obviously, I'm 'Protecting the Secrets' as most people still seem to be so I won't refer to it directly, but if you've seen the film you'll know exactly what I mean.

The first time we saw it as part of a double bill with the first film, my BFF and I sat there in stunned silence, both absolutely flabbergasted (I love that word) by what we'd just seen and completely unable to comprehend what was going on, whilst around us hordes of Muggles put on their coats and left the cinema moaning about the late hour, as if nothing momentous had just happened.

The following night at the midnight showing the reaction was more as we would have expected as most of the attendees were wizards rather than Muggles, and the discussion in the aftermath as everyone stayed rooted to their seat in hopes there would be a Marvel-type interlude at the end of the credits which explained everything was wild and speculative.

I thought the film was excellent although I'm obviously annoyed that it's going to be another year at least before that terrible cliffhanger is resolved - if it is.

Anyway, back to the reason I'm here and the sixth chapter of Dear Mym

It's Charlie's sixth year as a teacher at Hogwarts and Severus has finally become the DADA teacher. Will it make him happy? Will a year pass without terrible things happening? And is Harry Potter really the 'Chosen One'?

Although the story hasn't had as many views as I might have hoped, presumably because it's not yet completed (which I totally understand, I hate reading WIPs that might never get finished) the comments I've received have been both kind and positive.

I hope you enjoy this latest chapter. As always comments, reviews and kudos are welcomed.

I hope you have a good week.

Dear Mym - Year Five

Hello once again.

It's Sunday already, which means it's time for the next chapter of Dear Mym.

Unfortunately, there seem to be problems with FanFiction.Net which mean I can't post the story there tonight, but as they've been going on for what seems like some time according to their Twitter (actually, it says it's fixed but it isn't and they're not well-known for working on Sundays apparently), and I don't want to hold up the story for those that read on AO3, I'm posting there tonight and will add the link for FFNet when they come back online.

It's Charlie's fifth year at Hogwarts. There's another new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher starting, the Dark wizard Voldemort is back but not yet showing himself publicly so the Minister for Magic is still denying his return, and to cap it all Severus has been tasked with teaching Harry Occlumency. Is Charlie going to have any time for a hot relaxing bath with cocoa?

As always, I hope you enjoy the chapter and are enjoying the story. Thank you for the comments I have received so far, they're always appreciated.

This week is an exciting one with Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald being released. I'm off to see it in a double bill with the first film on Wednesday before going again for the midnight release on Friday.

If you're off to see the film this week - enjoy - it seems people who have already seen it are loving it. I honestly can't wait!

See you next week.

Dear Mym - Year Four

Good evening all,

It's day four of NaNoWriMo and my total word count currently stands at 2,683. I know this isn't great to be honest, especially considering it's been a weekend, but I'm not worried yet. There is still over three weeks to go and I don't normally get properly into my stride until the last week anyway.

However, even with writing to do I still have time to post the latest chapter of Dear Mym.

It's Charlie's fourth year at Hogwarts and the Triwizard tournament has been resurrected. How will she cope with the influx of foreign students and has Draco Malfoy's behaviour in her lessons improved at all?

If you're enjoying the story I would be grateful for a review, comment or kudos.

The first reports of people seeing Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald are coming in and while they're fortunately keeping tight-lipped on the details of the plot, everyone's saying it's wonderful. Sadly, I'm not getting to see it for another 10 days, when I get to watch both the first and second film as a double bill, I just hope no one posts spoilers before then.

Have a good week.
