Some Kind of Wonderful (re-write)

Merry Christmas!!!!

I trust you are all sufficiently replete after wonderful Christmas meals and all those other goodies we find ourselves eating at this time of year, and that Father Christmas brought you everything you wished for.

Today's gift from me to you is a re-working of a Dramione story that is already published on AFF.Net, called 'Some Kind of Wonderful'.

When I initially wrote the story I had always intended to publish it on FanFiction.Net as it is a sweet blossoming romance story (of sorts). But then I wrote a scorching sex scene for it which meant that it was way too saucy to put on there, so it ended up on AFF.Net instead. 

However, I've never really been all that happy that it was posted there as apart from that one scene it is all rather tame, so after several years of considering, I have re-written the sex scene considerably to make it acceptable for the FanFiction.Net audience (hopefully), and posted the whole thing in one go - so if you're a bit bored after all the turkey you've got something to keep you occupied for a few hours.

I am still keeping the original smutty version at AFF.Net, so if you want to read the original version you can find it in the link in the panel on the right (hint: with the exception of a few words here and there throughout the story the only major change is to the last chapter).

If you have already read the original, thank you for reading, and please be assured this is not plaigiarism, just me re-imagining the ending in a less lemony manner.

Some Kind of Wonderful - Chapter Six

So we've finally made it to the end of the story and the lemony stuff, which kept the story off of Fanfiction.net, is about to happen. It's not going to go quite how Draco had imagined, but I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

I really have enjoyed writing this story and want to thank everyone who has read it, especially those who reviewed. I'm sorry to the person who thought Draco was too sappy, as I don't suppose this chapter will endear him to them any more than before, but I guess you can't please everyone all the time.

New stuff to come shortly once my beta has finished her work and then it's back to the writing for a while.

Some Kind of Wonderful - Chapter Five

So here we are with the penultimate chapter of Some Kind of Wonderful. It's always a bit of a bittersweet moment for me when I realise that yet another story is almost complete, especially ones that I've enjoyed writing as much as I enjoyed this one. I just hope you're enjoying reading it as much.

Excitingly, this week saw the return of my favourite HP fanfic author, the brilliant Obsessmuch. I have raved many times over the years about all her stories, especially the astonishing Eden, which I still maintain is the best and without a doubt, darkest Lumione story I have ever read. 

Some time ago, back in June 2010 if we're being specific about it, Obsessmuch began her latest story called Ashes which features an interesting pairing of Ginny Weasley and Lord Voldemort. She published a couple of chapters, which were, as always, incredibly tantalising and extremely addictive, before disappearing for what seemed like forever. 

But finally, oh yes, finally, she has published a new chapter and it was so good that it almost made me cry. Not only does she have the most evil character in Voldemort and his growing obsession with Ginny, who he subtly tries to corrupt, she has introduced an interesting relationship between Ginny and Snape, based upon her similarity, looks-wise at least, to Lily.

I would heartily recommend checking it out, as the woman can tell a great story and her writing is absolutely sublime. 

In a week when E L James' incredibly badly written Twilight fanfic has taken over the world as the best-selling series of all time, outstripping even Harry Potter, and because of its success publishers are about to release re-written classics by authors such as Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters as 'mummy porn' (I'm still shuddering at the monster mash-ups that happened a few years ago) it is good to read something that is so good it almost isn't fan fiction and makes me believe that there is still some hope for literature.

Some Kind of Wonderful - Chapter Four

Sorry folks, I completely forgot to post the links for the latest chapter of Some Kind of Wonderful – call it fatigue caused by too much work and travelling and too little sleep.

My beta’s back off holiday and although swamped with stuff I have passed her a couple of short PWP Dramione stories to look at and I have a new longer story in the works which should be about ready to go once Some Kind of Wonderful finishes.

Talking of which I’ve had a couple of really lovely reviews for Three Wishes, which really cheered me up because it was a story I’d spent such a long time on and was a bit disappointed not to get much feedback about it.

Some Kind of Wonderful - Chapter Three

Evening all J

The third chapter of Some Kind of Wonderful has now been posted at Lumos and AFF.net. This is where everything starts getting a bit more serious for Hermione and Draco as he opens his heart and she learns more about him than she would ever have imagined.

I’ve finished a couple of shorter stories and am waiting for my lovely beta to come back off holiday so she can give them the once over. Two of them are Dramione stories as I don’t appear to be able to give up that ship just yet – two different stories on one theme to be precise, and the other is a Snape/Hermione story. I also have a longer story (once again Dramione) that is ready for betaing, which may well be my next episodic offering once Some Kind of Wonderful finishes. So, I’m happily still productive at the moment and with several other stories in the pipeline.

A Couple of Updates

Not much has been going on recently as my beta is currently on holiday, although I have continued writing. I’ve got about half a dozen stories almost completed, but they all involve scenes that I’m not in the mood to write at the moment so I have no idea when they are likely to get finished.

My love affair with Dramione is still continuing though, with several of the stories being about them. It seems however hard I try to move away from that pairing it’s just not happening.

I have published the second chapter of ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ on Lumos (it’s currently taking about a week for the chapters to be verified and uploaded to the site, so expect the third this time next week) and have now also added the first two chapters of the story to AFF.Net.

I have to admit that whilst I love the Sycophant Hex archives as they contain a wealth of good quality and well-written stories that I feel happy to be a part of, it appears they no longer attract as many readers as in years gone by and as the point of writing my stories is for people to read them I have to place them on the most popular sites as well. I’m not sure yet how this story will go down on AFF.net as there’s not a lot of sex in it, but it seems to have attracted a fair amount of readers with the first chapter so I can only hope that will continue.

Additionally, the second and final chapter of ‘The Real Thing’ has been added to Ashwinder. This too has now been added to AFF.net.

More Stories Than You Can Shake A Stick At

Well, not really, but I did finally get round to doing some posting.

First up is the first chapter of  'Some Kind of Wonderful', the Draco/Hermione fic I've been promising for ages. It's been posted on Lumos, the general HP site run by Sycophant Hex, which may unfortunately be for over eighteens only. It's a shame really as most of the story is actually kind of tame, but as the final chapter will contain lemons it isn't suitable for FanFiction.Net, especially with their newly enforced policies (I have heard many writers complaining recently that their work has been deleted without reference to them for containing language no longer considered suitable on the site).

Secondly, having rediscovered the Sycophant Hex world I posted Chess on Occlumency, the dedicated Severus Snape archive.

Finally, in flurry of activity, I have added "The Real Thing' to their Ashwinder site. This is an unashamedly lemony story featuring those old favourites Snape and Hermione. Definitely for over eighteens only and not featuring much in the way of a plot, if you know what I mean ;)

Chapter one has been posted and the second and final chapter is currently going through validation and hopefully should be up in the next few days. 

Chapter One - Desire

Time for me to take a break from posting and get on and do some writing, although I am hoping to get some reading done too. If anyone has any recommendations, I would be happy to hear about them. I would like to recommend 'Finding Remus' by BrownRecluse which I found to be an interesting and well written story.
